Too Cold

I was pretty sure I wanted to go outside this morning. I've been 'bothering' my mom about it. So she snapped me into my new blue harness, hooked up the leash and opened the door.

(gasp) COLD!!!

Nope, I've changed my mind.

This time she didn't throw me out in that snow like she did yesterday. Cruel person.

It's probably warmer outside the back door.....

Circle of Safety

Many games and chases with my mom these days. Usually, I run under a bed or couch or chair so she can't catch me and tickle me. Then one day, there was this magic circle on the floor. I knew if I jumped into it and curled up tight, nobody could touch me. It worked!!!

When I jump into it, Mom just stops, laughs and calls me a Funny Kitty. Magic!

We are getting along well. Freddie has the run of the back yard, all gates bolted shut, high fence all round. She can't get out - can't see = doesn't jump or climb.

I think she knows every inch of the place.

Fortunately, the weather has been nice the past few weeks, so she's been outside pretty much from morning to night, coming indoors to find me every so often.

She's such a neat little cat.

Much has happened over the past couple of months. Life & lifestyle changing events. Freddie is doing fine enough, though still blind. She's getting her strength back, learning her way around the house and yard...generally making the best of things as animals will do. People can learn a lot from our pets - I am.

So, generally, life is getting back to normal around here with adjustments.

Freddie needs twice daily medication administration so my gone-birding attitude is one of the things that's currently being revised. Have not so much lost interest in going off on birding drives as don't want to be away from Freddie for very long. She's still under observation - and besides, she gets even more lonely now that she can't see to jump up on things and look out windows.

Spring really is going to happen in Saskatchewan this year...at least down south where I live. Time to think about getting the RV opened up, de-winterized and hopefully made blind-cat friendly.
